Music will be in the air this summer at Garfield Park as the City of South Pasadena and the Parks & Recreation Commission holds their annual Summer Concerts in the Park series.
The family fun concerts will be held on select Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., starting July 7. The series will kick off that day with classic rock music performed by a South Pasadena favorite, “The Answer.”
Put on your dancing shoes on as “Suave the Band” takes the stage on July 14 playing Latin jazz music. The upbeat swing music sounds of Phat Cat Swinger can be heard on July 21.
The Motown sounds of Stone Soul performs on July 28. The concert series will close with country music performed by the popular “Riders of the Purple Sage.”
Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets, beach chairs and a picnic dinner and enjoy all the music and fun. Food items will be available for purchase from local organizations.
