As part of a busy Sunday in the city, in which a car show and open house at the local police and fire departments dominated Mission Street, many also were in attendance at a charity horse show, featuring a jumping competition, pony rides, crafts, face painting and an art auction, at San Pascual Stables in Arroyo Park. Local businessman Ted Shaw, third from left, was honored during the event for his efforts in pushing for the creation of San Pascual Stables in the late 1970s when he served on the South Pasadena City Council and later as mayor. From left, Alex Bellehumeur (San Pascual Stables partner) Joan Shaw, Ted Shaw, “Sapphire” the horse, Sydney Flashman, Renato Corso (San Pascual Stables partner) and Linda Bellehumeur.
